It allows users to access homemade local dishes at convenience.

Pieme is the first product of Pie Tech Limited, Kampala, Uganda.

Kainja Joshua and his team founded Pie Tech Limited in October 2018.

They wanted to solve the problem of people having limited options of food when they visit a restaurant.

Also, they want the food to be sold at lower prices by removing the need for an intermediary.

With Pieme, users buy food directly from the chef and will not have to pay extra charges.

Not just that, interested folks can also create events via the Pieme platform.

2. Why Pieme?

Pieme was created to:

a. Connect people to authentic home-cooked dishes

b. Help people earn extra income when they share their homes as part-time restaurants or event venues.

c. Leverage the large market of the food industry to reward all Pieme users

d. Reduce the high transaction fees in purchasing food.

e. Bring people of different cultures together to share food recipes and promote diversity.

f. Give people the opportunity to purchase food with cryptocurrency.

3. How Pieme Works

Simply, people maximize the Pieme platform to share meals and events.

Pieme charges a 10% commission on ordered meals and booked event tickets.

Also, it generates revenue from businesses that advertise on the platform.

Pieme users are known as Piemates and they are of two categories: Guests and Hosts.

The Hosts are the chefs while the Guests are the customers who request the food.

Pieme provides its services via its mobile app. 

Using the app, you choose to host meals/events or enjoy them.

How to (Host):

• Click on “host” from the homepage of the app
• Select whether you’ll host a meal or an event
• click on “+” to fill the verification form (you’ll answer questions relating to cooking hygiene and preferred meal choices; also, you’ll upload an identity document)
• Once verified, you can then set up your kitchen location and other information that guests may need to find you.
• Then wait to receive orders from guests.

How to (Guest):

• Click on “guest” from the homepage of the app
• Select whether you’ll have a meal or attend an event
• For meals; there are two options – “Discovered meals” and “Ordered meals”
• Discovered meals show you featured meals of top ranking Chefs to pick from. You can also filter your meal search based on popularity, price, rating, distance, and food category.
• Ordered meals show you the requested meals and allow you to identify when you received your order.
• For events, you can “explore” events around you or attend the ones you “registered” for initially.
• So, you order, make payment, and connect with the host. 👍

4. Features Of The Pieme App

The Pieme mobile app is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Here’s what the interface of the app looks like:

The features of the app include:

a. Newsfeed: This is the app’s homepage, where you’ll see posts from different users.

b. Search button: allows you to find hosts and guests you may want to follow.

c. Bell icon: this is where you view your notifications.

d. Wallet: displays your PIE balance and enables you to make payments using PIE, but it is not available yet.

e. Profile: enables you to set up your profile

f. Chat: from here, you can chat with your followers and those you follow.

g. Guests: this feature enables you to choose the meal you want or the event you’ll attend.

h. Hosts: here, you select either to host a meal or an event.

a. Go to Playstore or App Store, search for Pieme and download the app

ii. Open the app and register

iii. Next, you verify your email and set up your profile

iii. Follow suggested users or find people you know

iv. Go ahead and enjoy the available services.

Currently (4/03/2022), payments are only made in fiat on the app.

But that will change soon with the introduction of the PIE token.

PIE is the native token of Pieme. It is a BEP20 token that has yet to be launched.

This token was created to improve the payment system in Pieme.

PIE tokens will be used to pay for services on the platform.

4. What Does The Future Hold For Pieme?

The future looks bright for Pieme because it brings what we love to the table.

We no longer have to restrict our choices to what is available in restaurants.

Using the Pieme app, we can order what we want to eat and have it delivered to us.

Another factor that will boost the adoption of Pieme is the dual reward scheme.

The chefs are rewarded when users pay for what they make in their homes.

And customers eat what they want, which is prepared the way they want it.

Also, users of Pieme will benefit from 30% of the company’s profit when the PIE token is launched and they stake their holdings.

Additionally, the PIE token is another win for this platform.

It is a cryptocurrency that will launch on the Binance Smart Chain.

As users make transactions with the PIE token, it will have a good impact on the value of the coin and on the company in the long run.

Furthermore, the Pieme app has been functioning since 2020 (only in Uganda).

It already has 10,000+ downloads on PlayStore with about 170 positive reviews.

It’s good to know that many people already believe in the project, but it also means that the team needs to do a lot of publicity and promotions to extend the platform to other regions.

Again, the team may have little hitches trying to win investors because they have not previously championed a similar business.

Impressively, financial experts like Nathan Cooper and Jei Rahman already partnered with Pieme.
